Cat® 48V 3-wheel electric forklift trucks all have the ability to be set up with 360° steering. This innovation was patented in 2018 by Cat® Lift Trucks and saves 2 seconds’ productivity on each U-turn, thanks to the fact that the steering wheel can be turned continuously in the same direction.

What are the benefits for your handling?
The 360° steering has two advantages (see graphics below).
The first is a significant reduction in centrifugal force during the carriage's rotation (between moments B and C).
This improves load stability and allows for higher operating speeds.

The second is a higher execution speed. Our 3-wheel electric forklift never stops (the speed never drops to 0 km/h) and it re-accelerates much earlier than trucks equipped with 180° steering (a little before the middle of the rotation).
This has the effect of having a higher movement speed throughout the U-turn maneuver and particularly at the end of the rotation and allows two seconds to be saved per U-turn.

Another benefit of 360° steering is increased productivity per movement. With a truck capable of handling 20 movements per hour (two U-turns per movement), our Cat® electric forklifts can achieve up to 20 minutes of additional handling per day when used in 3 stations.
The RDS2 (Responsive Drive System 2) benefits from new developments in the use of hydraulic controls by constantly adjusting to the driver's behavior. This offers a perfect synergy between functionality, sensitivity and reaction speed for an optimal user experience.
This system automatically adjusts the mast's descent speed according to the weight of the load being handled. It guarantees a high level of fluidity, precision and regularity for each hydraulic movement. The load descends smoothly.
The mast is more stable and offers better productivity thanks to the gain of 3 seconds per maneuver.
The automatic curve speed reduction system smoothly adjusts the truck speed and minimizes lateral forces.
PowerBurst automatically provides extra torque when needed to maintain ramp speed or accelerate even with heavy loads.
This option will particularly appeal to forklift operators who find the mini-lever controls too small or who simply prefer joystick controls.
It allows a relaxed driving position, with more precise forward visibility, requiring minimal effort when changing direction.
